Four tips on how to avoid exam cheating and plagiarism

  1. Do not use ChatGPT or other forms of artificial intelligence or AI chatbots, as you are not permitted to use such aids unless specifically stated by your examinator
  2. Remember to make adequate source references throughout your exam paper, so that you avoid plagiarism
  3. Be critical when you use passages from shared notes in your exam papers, as your fellow student with whom you are sharing notes could potentially have used the exact same passage. This can lead to plagiarism. The same applies if you share your exam paper with a fellow student
  4. If you are unsure about the rules for an upcomming exam, we strongly recommend that you contact your study programme or examinator
